Delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets outs a framework to support children’s learning and development from birth to the end of their first year in school. The information and resources offered here are based on the four important principles of the EYFS.

All registered providers must follow the statutory safeguarding and welfare requirements to keep children safe and promote their welfare. The seven areas of Learning and Development must shape the delivery of early education and learning in registered settings.

Don't forget Learning Communities are a great way to network and share good practice. Learning Community dates can be found on EES. You can also book onto an event via EES. Instructions can be found inside our latest training brochure

We have published new Quality Matters materials for childminders, private, voluntary and independent (PVI) settings and schools. They can be downloaded from the EYFS Quality Matters (childminders), EYFS Quality Matters (PVI settings) and EYFS Quality Matters (schools) categories in the Resources section.

Also available are recent editions of our EYFS Quality Matters bulletins.
